For the very first Harry Potter, I think it went pretty well. Some people were a little late arriving but once we got going it was a blast. After dinner was over, I had everyone sorted into their houses picked by the glowstick they chose from a bag. The first game was to test everyone's trivia knowledge with the prize being wands for each teammate. The next game was the spell hunt, a game I made up, in which each team must find each set of cards in the right order (directed by a clue to each station) and those letters created a spell. The prize was a golden snitch pocket watch. The third game was Quidditch pong - very much like beer pong without alcohol and with tennis rackets as Quidditch hoops. Winning team won golden snitch necklaces and a nimbus 2000 pin. After a dessert break, there was Pin the Scar on Harry (like pin the tail on the donkey) and there were two prizes: a mini Harry figure and a plush TY owl. To end the night we played HP bingo a few times with Halloween prizes from the Dollar stores. Everyone had a wonderful time and they all loved their favour bags too including ties, tattoos, jewelry, HP glasses, chocolate frogs with cards (I made) and a Bertie Botts Every Flavoured (regular) jelly beans box.
